Working with what you’ve got

4

Sometimes in life you just have to work with what you’ve got and other times you have to improvise and this is true of the car hobby. Not all of us have a say in what we currently drive and some of us willingly choose to drive something a little left of the norm. Regardless resourceful automotive folk are, well, resourceful automotive folk and while some are quick to pass over whatever is currently sitting in their driveway, shop, or yard others are willing to work with what they have got. Today’s cars are examples of just that.

  1. When life hands you lemons, make lemonade. Then find a friend who got vodka and throw a party. šŸ™‚

While I agree, there is a point in which people get kinda full of whatever their build is… Yes, I can appreciate people’s enthusiasm, but please, for the love of the hobby, don’t ever think your car is something that it clearly is not.

I had this one dumb chick (on car domain, so there’s your level of stupidity) try to convince me that her “show prepped” tC could beat my Miata racing, like autocross and track. Uh….. If you didn’t build your car for autocross and track, but I did, don’t expect your car to beat me. (Unless we’re talking a car built by the company with track use in mind, like the S2000 or Viper ACR.)

But, if you can be cool with what I do, I can be cool with what you do, even if it’s not my style. Ya just gotta show me some respect, that’s all. šŸ™‚
